I’m really liking this haiku thing

Jonathan had this brilliant idea of me flying alone with the boys in a few weeks.  I answered him in haiku form:

Fly alone with them?

I would rather flush my head,

Thank you very much.

Rocking Chair haiku

After the boys outgrew the need for it, we took our rocking chair up to the church nursery.  But then last week it occurred to me that it might be good for Silas and his need for Much Movement. While Being Held.  With His Pacifier.  And Loud Music.

Good news:  He likes being rocked.

Bad news:  Rocking burns fewer calories than dancing around.  Might have to cut back on the chocolate cake consumption.

Good news:  While rocking I can compose haiku:

Moment of silence.

Inventor of the rocking chair,

How we honor you.
